UPDATE: Fire Marshal Investigating Stolen Vehicle Found Fully Engulfed In Lexington Park

MSP UPDATE: On July 17, 2021, Tpr J. Pope and Cpl. J. Palumbo responded to Quatman Road, Lexington Park for a reported vehicle fire. Upon arrival, a gray, Volkswagen Jetta displaying LA registration 559CZB was located severely damaged by fire on Quatman Rd. The vehicle was reported stolen on 7/17/21 through the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.

The State Fire Marshal responded to complete the investigation. Anyone with information, should contact the Office of the State Fire Marshal at (443) 550-6820.

LEXINGTON PARK, Md. - The vehicle was parked in a secluded area of Quatman Road and had burned for some time before being discovered by a passing motorist.

On July 17, 2021, at approximately 6:49 p.m., firefighters responded to Quatman Road in the area of Great Mills Road for the reported vehicle fire.

Firefighters from Bay District Volunteer Fire Department arrived on the scene to find the vehicle engulfed in flames. The fire was under control in less then 5 minutes. No injuries or arrests have been reported.  The vehicle loss estimated at $7,000.00.

The State Fire Marshal continues to investigate the cause. The owner of the vehicle is unknown at this time. Anyone with any information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Office of the State Fire Marshal, Southern Regional Office, at 443-550-6831.
