William (Bill) Harold Watson, Jr.

William (Bill) Harold Watson, Jr., of Baden, MD, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 2, 2020 at his home.

Born on July 13, 1933 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late William Harold and Hazel Gazette Watson.

After graduating high school, Bill entered the Navy and proudly served his country as a Radioman during the Korean War. After serving in the military, Bill worked for C & P Telephone Company for thirty-five (35) years.

Bill met and married the love of his life, Claire, in 1958 and they recently celebrated over sixty-one (61) years of marriage. Together they served as member of the Baden Volunteer Fire Department, creating happy memories with friends and loved ones of the Department and community. Bill had forty-six (46) years with the Department.

He cherished his family and the time he spent with them making memories above all else. His favorite hobbies were crabbing, fishing, hunting small game, putting together puzzles, playing board games with the grandchildren, gardening, and dancing with his wife at Fire Department events. A joy of his was to build and gift dollhouses to his granddaughters and friends. One of his favorite times of the year was in October, when he enjoyed helping at Robin Hill Farm by driving the tractor for hayrides to the “Pumpkin Patch”.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Claire; his children, Lisa Clem (Jimmy), Billy Watson (Loretta), Janice Hall (Dave), and David Watson (Cherie); his grandchildren, Melanie Baud, Jimmy Clem, Lexi Clem, Becky Kees, Danielle Loredo, Stephanie Hall, Joshua Hall, and Kevin Watson, as well as eleven great grandchildren; and his sister Shirley Manke. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

The family will receive friends for Bill’s Life Celebration on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. A Volunteer Fire Service Prayers will be held at 7 p.m. at Brinsfield Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A Funeral Service will be on July 9, 2020 at 10 a.m., and officiated by Bill’s grandson, Joshua W. Hall, with interment following at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman Beantown Road, Waldorf, MD 20601.
