Huntingtown, MD --  An emotional burglary suspect proved to be a handful once he was taken into custody in Calvert County last Saturday.

The Sheriff's Office arrested Corey James Eugene Patten after a Huntingtown resident reported he opened the back door of her home, came inside, and began to cry in her kitchen.

Deputies arrived at the scene, placed Patten under arrest, and transported him to the Calvert County Detention Center. While at the center, Patten broke the handcuffs and chain that were securing him in a holding cell.

He was charged with 4th degree burglary and malicious destruction of property.
