ARRESTS – LEXINGTON PARK COPs UNIT

On November 20, 2013, Sergeant Safford was on patrol in the area of Millison Plaza in Lexington Park, when he observed Joseph William Young, 59, of Lexington Park, on the shopping center property. Young had been served a notice not to trespass by Sergeant Safford on August 19, 2013. Young was charged via criminal citation with Trespass: Private Property by Deputy Wood.

On November 22, 2013, Thomas Raymond Banks, 57, of Lexington Park, was found to be in the area of the 21000 block of Great Mills Road consuming an alcoholic beverage in front of a retail establishment without the authorization of the owner. Banks was charged via criminal citation with the alcohol violation by Deputy Krum.

ARRESTS

On November 25, 2013, Deputy John Davis responded to the Walmart in California for a reported theft in progress. Loss prevention personnel observed a suspect placed food items in a plastic bag and left without paying. The suspect fled on foot when approached by loss prevention toward the Checkers. On arrival, Deputy Davis observed a person matching the description provided by loss prevention. The suspect dropped the bag and fled on foot. After a short foot chase, Darius Jamal Ernest Ennis, 20, of no fixed address, was apprehended. Initially, Ennis provided false information regarding his identity. He was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and charged with Theft Under $100.00, Trespass: Private Property, False Statement to Police Officer, and Resisting Arrest by Deputy Davis.

On November 26, 2013, Corporal Maletto responded to the Walmart in California for a reported theft. Loss prevention personnel observed two females select items of merchandise and placed them into a shopping cart. They then attempted to leave the store by passing all points of purchase without paying. The value of the merchandise was over $200.00. Tiffany Stacy Smith, 23, of Washington DC, and Derkia Denise Hopkins, 23, of Lusby, were placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. Both were charged with Theft Under $1,000.00.

On November 26, 2013, Deputy Tirpak responded to the Walmart in California for a reported theft. Loss prevention personnel observed a female place items of merchandise into a plastic Walmart shopping bag. She then exited the store without paying. Lisa Marie Trossbach, 38, of Mechanicsville, Maryland, was placed under arrest and charged via Criminal Citation with Theft Under $100.00.

On November 26, 2013, Deputy Beasley responded to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center for an assault between two inmates. The investigation revealed Charles William Cox, 33, assaulted the victim inmate over the use of the television remote. Cox was charged with 2nd Degree Assault.
