Kohl's announces scholarship recipients

Rebecca Olsen, 17, of Brandywine was recognized recently by Kohl’s Department Stores’ Kohl’s Cares Scholarship Program as one of more than 2,300 young volunteers nationwide who have made a positive impact in their communities through volunteerism.

Forty-five youth from Maryland, including Olsen, will each receive a $50 gift card and recognition certificate from Kohl’s to honor their community service efforts.

In 2013, Kohl’s celebrates its 13th year of rewarding remarkable young volunteers.

Since the Kohl’s Cares Scholarship Program began in 2001, Kohl’s has recognized more than 17,000 kids with more than  $3.4 million in scholarships and prizes.
