Woman Pulled from Vehicle Fire

On Thursday, July 29 at approximately 2 a.m., the Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad responded to an auto fire on Route 4 South at Mexico Restaurant in Huntingtown.

En route to the scene, dispatch reported that the driver was in the car, but had just been removed by another person.

Once the engine company arrived on the scene, they found a fully involved auto fire in the median and the patient on the far side of roadway from the fire.  It was reported at the scene that someone in another vehicle going in the other direction saw the fire and pulled the female driver from the car.

The patient, a 28-year-old female, was transported by helicopter to a local hospital. No word on the driver's condition at this time.
