On Monday, July 5 at approximately 3 a.m., DFC J. Morgan stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in Lusby.  DFC Morgan contacted the driver who advised that his passenger, Jeremy Michael Baran, 21 of Lusby, had just been stabbed and they were en route to Calvert Memorial Hospital.  DFC Morgan observed that the victim was bleeding severely from his upper thighs.  The St. Leonard Volunteer Rescue Squad was contacted, responded to the scene and transported Baran to the Emergency Room for treatment.

Detective Rich arrived at Calvert Memorial Hospital and made contact with the victim.    He observed Baran’s injuries and noted five (5) separate injuries; all of which required numerous stitches.  Investigation determined that the victim and the unidentified suspect had several discussions over their cell phones and developed some differences over an adult female.  They agreed to meet near the boat ramp off of Riverview Drive in Lusby.  Detective Rich confirmed that the actual stabbing occurred in this area and believed that the suspect was still in this vicinity.  Detective Rich’s investigation led him to a home in Lusby occupied by four adult males and one adult female.  Detective Rich identified Sean Michael Rowe, 18 of Lusby, and arrested him for stabbing Baran.  The 6 inch buck hunting knife used during the assault was also located and recovered.

Baran was released from Calvert Memorial Hospital after treatment for his injuries and is recuperating. Rowe was charged with first-degree assault and second-degree assault and held on a $25,000 bond.
