The Charles County Sheriffs Office is urging residents to remove personal property from unattended vehicles and to report suspicious activity immediately after officers responded to several calls for thefts and vandalisms.

On July 6 between midnight and 5 a.m., unknown suspects broke into several cars parked on Robin Road, Andrea Lane, Farm Drive and Steven Lane in La Plata and stole small electronic devices. Officers processed the scene and located a witness who reported seeing a small pickup truck leaving the scene at about the same time a car alarm sounded.

Also, sometime between 11 p.m. on July 4 – until 5 a.m. on July 5, unknown suspects broke out the windows of three cars in the King’s Grant neighborhood. Nothing was reported stolen in those cases.
