Maryland State Fire Marshal Investigating Vehicle Found Completely Engulfed in Flames in California

CALIFORNIA, Md. -- On Wednesday, June 10, at approximately 4:30 a.m., 10 firefighters primarily from Bay District Volunteer Fire Department responded to the area of Myrtle Point Road, California, for the reported vehicle fire.

Crews arrived on the scene to find a 2019 Toyota Sequoia completely engulfed in flames. The fire was under control and extinguished within 45 minutes. No injuries have been reported.

Upon further investigation, the fire was found to be the result of an unknown person(s) intentionally igniting the interior passenger compartment of the vehicle.

The fire was reported by a resident in the area, and caused an estimated $20,000 worth of damage to the vehicle.
