Garden hosts chili cook-off, car show

Dowell, MD - Hot cars and hot food drew locals and visitors alike to Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Arts Center Saturday, June 13. The Second annual Annmarie Chili in the Garden was a blend of food preparation and tasting, the showcasing of classic vehicles and live music.

Both the chili preparation and tasting; and display of cars, trucks and motorcycles were quite competitive.

The event was presented in conjunction with the Chili Appreciation Society International (CASI).

Garden visitors were encouraged to observe the chili teams prepare their entrees, taste the chili and cast their votes. The down-home sounds of the Port Tobacco Pickers and Recycled Bluegrass entertained the crowd while the chili-sampling and balloting was underway.
