On Friday, June 1, 2012 at 9:28pm, Tpr. E. T. Reuschling responded to the Food Lion in Lexington Park for a reported theft. Upon arrival, contact was made with an employee of the store that advised a female suspect, later identified as Victoria Lynn Bryant, 46, of Lexington Park entered the store with an empty open purse. Upon attempting to exit the store it was observed that Ms. Bryant’s purse contained more items than it did upon entering. One item was noticeably sticking out of the bag and was identified as a product of the store. As Ms. Bryant exited the store, Loss Prevention made contact; however, Ms. Bryant fled the scene in a black passenger vehicle. Tpr. Reuschling observed surveillance footage of the incident, and was able to send an additional unit to the registered owner of the passenger vehicle residence. Ms. Bryant was located at the residence and matched the image of the female committing the theft in the video. Upon responding to the 21000 block of North Essex Drive, Tpr. Reuschling made contact with Ms. Bryant regarding the theft. Ms. Bryant followed Tpr. Reuschling back to the Food Lion where she was positively identified by a witness. Ms. Bryant was arrested for Theft Less Than $100.00 and issued a Criminal Citation with a mandatory court date prior to being released from the scene.
