Woman Rescued from House Fire

On June 25 at 9:56 p.m., volunteer firefighters and emergency personnel from Ridge, Bay District, Valley Lee, Ridge EMS, Lexington Park EMS, SMCALS and the NAWC Fire Department (Co. 14) were dispatched to 17766 Lawrence Street in St. Inigoes for a House Fire with reported subject trapped inside the house.

Within seconds after dispatch Engine 33, Engine 91, Truck 3, Tower 9, Engine 32 and Chief 3 all marked up with a staffing of 28 personnel. Engine 141 arrived on the scene at 10:02 p.m. and advised of a single story residence with smoke showing and laid a supply line from an adjacent driveway.

Their crew deployed a attack line and entered into the front door where they located the female victim that was inside the residence and escorted her out of the house and turned her over to EMS. Crews located the fire in a bedroom extending out into the hallway and started into the attic.

Engine 33 and Truck 3 arrived shortly after and the engine crew assisted with extinguishment and the Truck Crew threw ladders, opened up a natural vent hole, setup ventilation and with Engine 91's Crew started opening up the interior for the attack crews

At 10:18 p.m., the command advised that the fire was out and that the crews were checking for extension. The victim was treated on the scene for minor smoke inhalation and signed a refusal from EMS. Units from Bay District cleared the scene at Midnight. The Fire Marshall's office is investigating the cause of the fire.

Damage estimate is ringing in at $40,000.00
