Motorcyclist Injured in Memorial Day Crash

St. Mary's County Sheriff's are investigating a serious accident in Hermanville that occurred on May 31 around 6:45 p.m.

Rescue crews responded to the 21100 block of Hermanville Road for a reported accident with injuries.

Investigation revealed the driver of a Kawasaki motorcycle was travelling north of Route 235 when a black Isuzu Rodeo travelling southbound on Route 235 failed to yield the right of way of the motorcyclist, striking the bike causing the cyclist to be thrown approximately fifty feet from the crash scene.

The motorcyclist was flown by MSP Trooper 2 to Prince George's Shock Trauma for his injuries.

The driver of the Rodeo was issued a citation at the scene.

No word on the condition of the motorcyclist at this time. The accident remains under investigation.
