Motorcyclist Critically Injured

On Friday, June 4 at approximately 2:21 p.m., rescue crews responded to 20272 Point Lookout Road in Great Mills near the intersection of Flat Iron Road for a reported serious accident. When units arrived, they discovered that a motorcycle had collided with a black GMC Pick-up truck.

The male driver of the motorcycle suffered serious injuries and Trooper 7 was requested due to the extent of his injuries. The injured motorcycle driver was treated on the scene, transported by ambulance to the landing zone and was subsequently transported to PG Shock Trauma by helicopter. There is no word on the condition of the crash victim at this time. 

Investigation revealed the motorcyclist was travelling northbound on Route 5 when the driver of the Pick-up truck pulled out of the parking lot of the Trading Post into the path of the cyclist causing the collision. No word if any charges were made.

Traffic in the area was backed up for hours as accident reconstruction investigators worked the scene.
