Eleanor (Ellie) Rose Yost

Eleanor (Ellie) Rose Yost was born at her family home in Tony Holler located in Fayetteville West Virginia. She was one of 11 children born to Marlin and Margaret Rose. She attended Fayetteville HS and after graduation moved to Dayton Ohio. She lived there for a few years before moving to Virginia. Ellie worked as the Executive Assistant to the Secretary Treasurer of The American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). She was a hard worker. She retired in 1992.

Ellie was an amazing mother who raised her only child, Debra, on her own.  She never missing an early morning soccer game or school event. She was a loving but tough mom who instilled strength and independence in her daughter. Ellie loved her family and was close to her siblings. She loved attending the Rose family reunion every year. She was a wonderful mother and a friend to many.

She married the love of her life, Richard “Dick” in 1987. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family.  They enjoyed their three grandchildren very much. They attended soccer, t-ball and football games and never missed a “Grandparents day”. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. The grand kids loved going to visit Maw-Maw and Paw-Paws house. They became “Snowbirds” after retirement and eventually moved to Spring Hill, Florida in 2005.

Eleanor had a charismatic personality and didn’t know a stranger.  She enjoyed crafting and was never without her camera. She was the most unselfish and giving person you could meet I know. She would help anyone in need. She was an amazing woman and will be truly missed.
