Dr. Lipoff: Military Appreciation Night at Chick fil-A

It’s about the 625,000 Americans killed in the Civil War.  The 116,000 Americans killed in WWI. The 405,000 Americans killed in WWII. The 36,000 Americans killed in the Korean War. The 58,000 Americans killed in the Vietnam War. The 2,300 Americans killed in the Afghanistan War. The 4,500 Americans killed in the Iraq war. And all the Americans killed in other wars.

Words can never express the gratitude we must show our military heroes for their sacrifices when our country called upon them.

Many of the fallen, just kids not having fully experienced life themselves, or parents far away from their loved ones, fulfilling a larger responsibility.

Please don’t stomp on or burn our flag and live freely in our country.

Over a million citizens have fought for our rights, our freedom, our way of life, our liberties as a nation, and countless families have mourned the loss of loved ones taken long before their time.

From the Battle of the Bulge, the Tuskegee Airmen and the Middle East War Heroes; the battle for freedom of our country and other nations continues.

One Nation. People who care for one another and the success of our neighbors and friends regardless of religion, wealth or color.

Under God. Regardless of who you want to believe in you respect others opinions and believe in doing what is right and treating others with respect.

Indivisible. Nothing and no one can stop the human spirit we all possess and the greatness we can accomplish together.

Liberty and Justice for us all. We all have the right to succeed and enjoy the freedoms most of the world will never experience. We will not take these for granted and we will support those that stand up for us and honor them always, including the brave men and women of our police, sheriff, EMS and fire departments.

Chick fil-A just had Military Appreciation Night. My office does it during the week of 9-11. Many other businesses run a similar event as well.

Chick fil A restaurants across the country provide free meals to military personnel and their families. Tens of thousands of free meals were handed out last week. What a great thing to do for the community.

In California Maryland Stephanie Witte, Voni Craig and the entire staff ran a smoothly executed plan for fun and somehow got the weather to cooperate this year.

Home 2 Suites by Hilton, DJ Ernie Riviere and Foundation 4 Heroes were just a few of the people that came out for such a wonderful, community-minded event.

If you like community, check out the Wildewood Shopping Center’s Family Fun Day. There will be lots of contests and prizes as we have fun and raise money for some great kids. There will be a moon bounce, dolphin water slide, Balloon Nerd Show and balloons for kids, Kreative Kharacter face-painting and more. Especially if you register for a contest early because there will be extra goodies!!!

Come out Saturday May 30th and swing by the plaza between GNC, World Gym and Sears. The event runs from 11 – 2 and contests start at noon.

Everyone in our organization is saddened by the news that we lost one of our true ambassadors of our organization, Foundation 4 Heroes, last night. Our Princess Alexx earned her wings after many years of undeniable courage, heart, sense of family and purpose and empathy for others. She was a warrior 'til the end. We wish her family peace and comfort by taking pride in how she lived her life and cared for others. Truly an amazing woman beyond her years.

There will also be a Raffle for four overnight stays at either Country Inn & Suites, Holiday Inn at Solomons or Home 2 Suites by Hilton, you pick where; plus $50 gift certificate to THE REX, $20 gift cards to Outback Steakhouse, $20 Bob Evans Gift Card and more. Tickets are 1 for a $1, 6 for $5, 15 for $10. Need not be present to win.

If you get hungry we will have Meal Deal for you. A Chick fil-A sandwich, cookie, chips and water for just $5!! All proceeds from the food items will be divided evenly between the three kids and F4H.

Here is the itinerary for the day.
