HR Professionals Focus on Discrimination Prevention and Diversity at June 19 Meeting

The Human Resources Association of Southern Maryland (HRASM) will meet on June 19 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, 13100 Dowell Road, Dowell, MD 20629.  Keith Merkey, Human Relations Specialist, Maryland Commission on Civil Rights, will present this month’s topic. In this session, diversity issues will be explored. In order to realize the greatest competitive advantage and retain the most qualified employees, organizations must make an effort to ensure that their employees represent a diverse population and that a culture of inclusion and respect is promoted and maintained.

The meeting is open to anyone with an interest in Human Resources issues.  The cost is $20.00 for members and $25.00 for nonmembers, which includes lunch.  To register, go to: Once registered, payment is required if a cancellation is made after the deadline date.  This meeting has been approved for 1.25 General recertification credits toward PHR, SPHR, and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute.

HRASM has 120 members from the tri-county area who have a special interest in the human resources field. Its mission is to provide networking, educational, advisory and training opportunities to HR professionals in Southern Maryland.
