On May 4, 2010 at approximately 3:47 p.m., Tpr. B. T. Wiesemann was on patrol in the area of Pegg Road and Ronald Drive in Lexington Park, when he was flagged down by a motorist. Upon making contact with the female complainant, 18 of Lexington Park, Tpr. Wiesemann was informed the female had been assaulted in 46000 block of Columbus Drive in Lexington Park. The complainant advised Shameka Leven Harrod, 18 of Lexington Park, accused her of spreading rumors and then assaulted her. After being provided with additional details of the assault, Tpr. Wiesemann responded to Columbus Drive to make contact with the suspect. When asked about the incident Ms. Harrod admitted to the assault. Ms. Harrod was arrested and charged with Second Degree Assault and Disorderly Conduct, she was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

On May 4, 2010 at 6:25 p.m., TFC M. B. Adams responded to the 46000 block of Columbus Drive in Lexington Park for a reported Disturbance. Upon arriving on the scene, TFC Adams with the assistance of Tpr. B. T. Wiesemann determined the disturbance was related to the previous assault on Columbus Drive.

Investigations determined that a Shameka Harrod, 18 of Lexington Park was assaulted by female juvenile, 15 of Lexington Park, as retaliation for an assault Harrod made on a female earlier on that day. The juvenile was arrested for Second-Degree Assault and Disorderly conduct, and transported to the Leonardtown Barrack. The female was released to a parent pending further action by juvenile services.
