St. Mary's Chamber Struts its Stuff

On Wednesday, May 12, the St. Mary's County Chamber of Commerce held its annual Business Showcase for 2010. The event began with an elegant banquet and Awards Luncheon to honor four Chamber members for their outstanding contribution to St. Mary's County and the region.

The first award went to J.F. Taylor, Inc. The company was honored with the Lighthouse Award for its continued growth and strong commitment to the community. The second company to be honored was Murray, Wamsley & Schrader, LLC, CPA. The accounting firm received the Beacon Award for its success as a small business.

Honored with the 2010 Emerging Business Award was AM Pierce & Associates. The company demonstrated success, growth and entrepreneurial spirit for a business in its early years. The final award of the day went to Burch Oil Company, Inc. for its dedication to community service and for demonstrating the highest level of corporate citizenship.

Following the luncheon, Chamber members strutted their stuff in a business exposition that covered most of the Higher Education Center's second building with networking opportunities for all participants. was there to record all the fun, networking and socializing throughout the afternoon. Baynet Radio's, on-air personality, John Hunt also came the expo and did a live radio broadcast from the event.
