Accidental fire destroys truck

An accidental fire Saturday destroyed a truck in California, according to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office. The fire began in the engine compartment of the 1997 Peterbuilt truck owned by William Bean that was located on Bean Family Lane in California. Loss is estimated at $20,000.

The fire was called in by a neighbor at 8:20 Saturday morning. Bay District Volunteer Fire Department responded and it took them five minutes to bring the blaze under control.

The fire was investigated by Deputy Fire Marshall Melissa Bean.
