ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Effective at 8 p.m. tonight, the Governor of Maryland Larry Hogan has issued an executive order for all Maryland residents to stay-at-home unless noted for an essential reason.

"No Maryland resident should be leaving their home unless it is for an essential job, or it is for an essential reason,” Hogan said. “Only essential businesses are allowed to remain open in Maryland, and those businesses must also make every effort to scale down their operations in order to reduce the number of required staff."

Hogan appeared displeased at how some residents have not taken the previous orders seriously, causing him to take even further action now.

"This is a deadly public health crisis," Hogan said. "We are no longer asking or suggesting that Marylanders stay home... we are directing them."
