John Pitt Jordan (Flop)

John Pitt Jordan (Flop) 71, of Rockville, MD passed away on March 12, 2020 in Mechanicsville.  Flop was born in Washington, DC on February 3, 1949, to the late John L. and Lucille Francis Hockaday Jordan.

Flop began working in construction as a carpenter and brick layer right out of high school.  He was a hard-working and humble man who enjoyed sharing his treasure, including giving you the shirt off his back and his very last dollar.  Flop loved being outdoors, spending time on the water, crabbing and fishing.  He also lovingly agitated all his family.  Flop loved children and took every opportunity to spend time at the local park kicking a soccer ball around, pushing them on the swings or just sitting on the bench and talking with them.

He is survived by his daughter, Destiny, his grandchildren Dylon, Felicity, Donavyn and Cullyn; one great granddaughter Kinsley; his brothers, Robert Allen and Gerald David; his sisters Edith, Samantha, Judy and Patti and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents, his sons, John Pitt Jordan Jr and William James Jordan and his brother, Raymond Graham.

Family will receive friends for John’s Visitation on Monday, March 16, 2020 from 11am-12pm with a Funeral Service at 12pm at Brinsfield Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622.  Interment will immediately follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, 38888 Dr. Johnson Road, Mechanicsville, MD 20659.
