Hogan Closes All Malls and Entertainment Venues; Prohibits Over 10 People Gathering

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Following the first death in Maryland from the novel coronavirus(COVID-19), the Governor of Maryland Larry Hogan[R], has announced that at his direction he will prohibit any events that have more than 10 people at one location. Additionally, all shopping malls and entertainment venues will be closed as of 5pm on Mar. 19.

"We are only at the beginning," Hogan said. 

As of his announcement, there have been 107 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state of Maryland. This is an 88% increase throughout the past 48 hours.

Governor Larry Hogan also announced the first case of a child contracting the virus, who is a five-year-old in Howard County.
