Calvert County Confirms First Case of COVID-19

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. - As of Mar. 19, Calvert County has recorded it's first case of the novel coronavirus(COVID-19). This information was recorded through a live map on the state's coronavirus response page.

At this time, the Calvert County Health Department has confirmed the case.

The health department official said the person contracted the case from "a relative who lives out of state."

The current state of the individual is that they are "symptomatic but in good health" according to officials. Additionally, they have had limited exposure to members of the public and "very limited contact with common surfaces."

At this time, the Health Department said they will not release the age or gender of the person.
