On March 11, at approximately 6:30 p.m., fire units were dispatched to a house fire at 23644 Rocky Ridge Ct in Leonardtown. Fire Stations from Leonardtown, Seventh District and Hollywood responded to the blaze.

When firefighters arrived they found the house fully involved with open flame. Engine 73 and Engine 74 responded with 9 volunteers and while in route communications advised the units responding that they were getting numerous calls and they would be upgrading the assignment to a Working fire bringing Station 5 and Truck 7 to the call. Engine 10 arrived on the scene at 6:40 p.m., dropping a supply line from Budds Creek Road, and advising they were on the scene with a two story single family with an attached garage fire showing.
The crew from Engine 10 advanced hand lines into the structure to start attacking the fire. Engine 14 and Engine 73 arrived next with Engine 14 picking up the line and the crew from Engine 73 assisting the attack crew with opening up. Engine 74 arrived and laid out 900 feet of 4-inch supply line from a hydrant at Budds Creek Rd and Mitchell Dr and supplied the fire ground.
The crew from Engine 74 threw ground ladders and assisted with opening up for the crews operating inside. The fire was deemed under control within 30 minutes of arrival and command held all units for overhaul.
The units from Station 7 remained on the scene for 20 more minutes before picking up and going in service. Chief 1B held the command while Captain 1 was operations. The State Fire Marshall is investigating the incident and the cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
