Firefighters Respond to Third Fire in Less Than 24 Hours in St. Mary's County

MECHANICSVILLE, Md. - On February 16, 2021, at approximately 4:45 a.m., fire and rescue personnel was alerted to the reported garage fire at the 26400 block of Three Notch Road in Mechanicsville.

The units first to arrive found a tractor on fire with extension to a 20x20 garage.  The crew of Engine 72 stretched an attack line and began knocking down all visible fire from the tractor and garage. The fire was knocked and the assignment was scaled back to units from Station 7, 2, and 1.  Crews remained on the scene performing overhaul before returning to service in just over an hour.  No injuries were reported.

This is the 3rd fire in less than 24 hours in St. Mary's County. Please remember to check your smoke detectors and make sure you have a way out.
