UPDATE: Feb. 16

On Sunday, Feb. 14 at 12:39 p.m. police, fire and rescue personnel responded to a two-vehicle, motor vehicle collision that occurred at the intersection of MD Route 235 and Clover Hill Road in Hollywood.  Trooper Pitcher of the Leonardtown Barrack was the first police responder on the scene and he conducted the investigation.

It was determined that vehicle #1 was attempting to travel from northbound MD Route 235 to Clover Hill Road, via a crossover.  Vehicle #2 was traveling southbound on MD Rt. 235 in lane #2.  As vehicle #2 approached the area of the crossover, its operator saw vehicle #1 entering the southbound lanes of MD Rt. 235.  The operator of vehicle #2 swerved into lane #1 to avoid a collision and ultimately collided with vehicle #1.

One of the vehicle occupants, an 8-year-old juvenile, was evaluated by rescue personnel on the scene and was eventually flown to Children’s Hospital via Maryland State Police Helicopter, Trooper 7.

The juvenile was treated and released from Children’s Hospital later on the same date.

On Sunday, Feb. 14 at approximately 12:50 p.m., emergency units from Leonardtown and Hollywood responded to the area of 25580 Three Notch Road in Hollywood for a personal injury accident.

Units arrived on the scene to discover one patient suffering serious injuries from the crash as a result of the vehicle having to creep into the southbound lanes in order to see around piled high snow left over from the back-to-back blizzards this past week. Maryland State Police reported this intersection has been the scene of four other accidents due to high piled snow.

The patient was airlifted to the hospital by Trooper 7. No word on the condition of the victim at this time.

Maryland State Police stated that accident is still under investigation and that a statement would be issued when that investigation is concluded.
