UPDATE: Armed Robbery Results in Shooting in Lexington Park

On February 13, at approximately 9:29 p.m., Patrol Units responded to a residence in Lexington Park for the report of a subject suffering from a gunshot wound. 

Detectives from the Bureau of Criminal Investigations responded and assumed the investigation. Investigation determined the victim was exiting his driveway when he was confronted by two black male's and demanded money.  One of the suspects produced a firearm and shot the victim one time in the side.  Both suspects then fled on foot. 

The victim was transported to Prince George’s Hospital Shock Trauma Center with non-life threatening injuries.

At approximately 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13 police were alerted to an armed robbery and shooting in Lexington Park. Apparently two suspects attempted an armed robbery of a black male and shot him in the right chest in his car in front of the victim's house on Timber Valley Ct. According to the victim, he then drove to the Shell station at Pegg Rd and 235 and called 911 stating he was shot. The victim described the suspects as two light-skinned black males in their early 20s who escaped on foot.

Police are actively searching for the suspects. The victim was flown out, but there is no word on the condition of the victim or on the progress of the search. is at the scene and more information will be provided as it comes in.

A short while later another robbery attempt by two armed suspects in the area of Scarborough and South Essex was reported. Available, yet not officially confirmed information is that that victim was able to escape unharmed. No other details are available at this time.
