For Art and Music Lovers: Arts Alliance Offers Special Benefits To Members

Do you appreciate fine arts and music? Join the club! Area residents are invited to join the Arts Alliance of St. Mary’s College of Maryland (SMCM). You can join at a members-only reception Sunday February 11, at 2 p.m. in Montgomery Hall Room 25, featuring SMCM’s Latin American guitarist Orlando Roman. Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served. The Arts Alliance of SMCM is a nonprofit organization with more than 600 members that supports and promotes cultural and arts-related activities and programs at the College for the enrichment and enjoyment of the Southern Maryland community. Membership in the Arts Alliance is open to the community, with annual dues: $35 for individuals and $50 for families.  Senior citizens receive a discount on dues, $30 for individuals and $45 for families.

Membership benefits include: invitations to special Arts Alliance events, exclusive mailings about college programs, discounts for various programs, a college parking permit, and a college library card. The Arts Alliance sponsors the River Concert Series, awards grants for faculty programs and guest artists, conducts outreach programs to schools and community groups, and promotes the development of the college’s art collection.

“We are grateful to Arts Alliance members because their involvement helps promote and support art, music, theater and other related activities for the enrichment and enjoyment of the Southern Maryland community,” said Bershon, arts outreach coordinator.
