Earleste Davis (Buttons) Peyton

Earleste Davis (Buttons) Peyton, 66, of Upper Marlboro, MD passed away on January 8, 2020 at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center in Clinton, MD.

Buttons was born on February 9, 1953 in Washington, D.C. and was received with love by aunt and uncle as their beloved daughter, the late Oliver Wilkins and Geneva (Davis) Wilkins.

She was born and raised in the DC Metropolitan area where she attended St. Gabriel's Catholic School, Dunbar High School and then went on to graduate from Theodore Roosevelt in the year 1971. She attended Bennett College in North Carolina for a few years and then later returned home. Over the years, Buttons worked and gave birth to a daughter at age 21, the late Onica Denise Wilkins.

She later married, R. A. Peyton, Jr., in 1987 and together they celebrated 32 years of marriage. Their marriage produced a daughter Renee’ Antoinette Peyton. Buttons went on to follow in her mother’s footsteps and worked in accounting where she gained a host of cherished friendships with coworkers who became family.

Buttons was a wonderful woman who loved her family. She adored her two beautiful granddaughters, Peyton and Laiya Baker. Spending time snuggled up with her grandbabies was a favorite pastime. She could spend an afternoon watching cartoons, movies or simply having times of laughter with them. Buttons loved to listen to music and could always be found tapping her toes to a good beat or moving and grooving when the music filled her soul.

Her bright smile and quick wit will be dearly missed. She was always ready to play a game of Pokeno with “THE DIVAS and friends” or head down to the community room for the next gathering.  Buttons also loved to read; she could easily get lost in a good book for hours at a time. This was her Peace and Quiet. Memories of her inherent joy will last a lifetime for her family.

Her faith was strong, and she truly loved the Lord. She attended Destiny International Christian Center under the leadership of Dr. Dawn M. Harvey-Owens with her daughter Renee’. She will truly be missed by the DICC family.

Buttons leaves the following persons to cherish her memory: her husband, R.A. Peyton, Jr.; daughter, Renee’ A. Peyton (fiancé Marcus Daniels); granddaughters; Peyton Baker and Laiya Baker; Mother-in-Law; Ora L. Peyton Brother; sister-in-laws and a host of loved nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Onica D. Wilkins.

The family will receive friends for Button’s Life Celebration on Monday, January 20, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00p.m. at Brinsfield Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622.
