Maryland wineries to meet for Winter Wine Showcase

BALTIMORE - Lest wine be forgotten in the cold of winter, the Maryland Wineries Association gathers award-winning Maryland wines for an evening of appreciation at the upcoming Winter Wine event. Enthusiasts from the region are invited to gather in the roundhouse dome of Baltimore’s B&O Railroad Museum on Friday, January 25, 2019 to sample this curated collection of wine.

Kicking off the evening at 6:00 pm, Sparkling Reception pass holders are invited to an hour-long exploration of Maryland’s traditional and non-traditional sparkling wines. This session is meant for attendees to learn about méthode champenoise while enjoying early entry to the Winter Wine event. Sparkling Reception passes also include entry to the evening’s main event, the Roundhouse Tasting.

The Roundhouse Tasting begins at 7:00 pm and features an array of varietals and blends from around the state. This tasting session provides attendees with some wine education, including information about Maryland’s distinct growing regions and approaches to making award-winning wine. Bottles of wine will be available for purchase from participating wineries, affording enthusiasts to take their favorite wines home.

Passes to the Sparkling Reception and the Roundhouse Tasting are available for advanced purchase via the Maryland Wineries Association website ( The attendance at this exclusive event is limited to 400 enthusiasts. As there is no guarantee that tickets will be available at the door, it is recommended that tickets be purchased prior to the event.
