Three Transported from Calvert Crash

At approximately 3:45 p.m, on Friday, Jan. 1, the Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad received a report of an auto accident at Route 4 and Ponds Woods Road in Huntingtown.

The initial report was that there were five patients and no entrapment. Two ambulances from Huntingtown, an ambulance from Dunkirk and an ambulance from Prince Frederick were dispatched on the call along with a Medic Unit. Assistant Chief Montgomery arrived on the scene and after evaluating the situation held Company 6 for cleanup and secure of vehicles at scene, both ambulances from Huntingtown and ambulance from Dunkirk for transport.

Three patients were transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital and two or three additional patients signed treatment refusals.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No word if any charges have been made.
