An employee of Walmart in Prince Frederick contacted police on December 27 at approximately 9:25 p.m. and advised that he observed a suspect take a 20-inch Sanyo television, valued at over $300.00 out of the store without paying for it.

A description of the suspect’s vehicle was given and Det. Christopher Parsons observed the vehicle traveling eastbound on Md. Rt. 231. Parsons pursued the vehicle into Charles County where the Charles County Sheriff’s Office deployed stop-sticks in the area of MD. Route 231 and the Hughesville Fire Department.

The vehicle tires were flattened and the vehicle came to a stop in the Mercantile Bank parking lot on Md. Rt. 5.  Dfc. Parsons, assisted by Md. State Trooper Stephen M. Keen of the Prince Frederick Barrack, then arrested the driver, identified as Thomas C. Cole, 43 of Waldorf and charged him with theft.
