A Stolen Handgun, Cocaine, Pills and Pot Will Cause One Clogged Toilet

On Dec. 28 the Calvert County Drug Investigation Unit with the assistance of Calvert Investigative Team, the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Team and the St Mary’s County Emergency Service Team executed two search warrants in reference to drug trafficking.  The search warrants were obtained for two residences, 6740 and 6750 Solomons Island Rd., Sunderland.  During the execution of the warrant, Shelton Brown 26 year old male from Beltsville, was found to have a stolen 9mm handgun and 3 baggies of crack cocaine on his person.

Upon entering the residence of 6740 Solomons Island Rd, investigators observed Earl Leroy Griffin, 30 year old male from Sunderland, trying to flush 19 grams of marijuana.  A search of a vehicle on the property owned by Thomas Wilson Brown, 41 year old male from Chesapeake Beach, recovered marijuana and unknown pills. 

Shelton Brown was charged with possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession of a handgun in relation to a drug trafficking crime, carrying a firearm while engaged in a drug trafficking crime, carrying a handgun on his person, possession of crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia.  Shelton Brown was released on $50,000 bond. 

Earl Griffin was charged with possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Griffin was released on $75,000 bond. 

Thomas Brown was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, he was released on $7,500 bond.
