The Safety of Children

Rose Willenborg
10/2/2009

To The Public I drive and pick student's up every morning on Rt5 and there is alot of traffic and I have student's coming from both side's of the street. It is very dangerous and very hard for me to see everything around me. People are talking on their cellphone's not paying attention to the Schoolbus light's or looking to see the student's coming across the street. When the car's finally do see me they hit their brake's and go on the shoulder to stop from hitting the vehicle in front of them. I have seen a car run off the road and mudd flying and was only 1 foot from taking out an Electrical Pole and the kid's were right in front of them. It is an awful feeling sitting in the Driver's seat and there is nothing I can do, but say a quick Prayer. I cannot stress enough for the Public to slow down when you see the Schoolbuses on the road. I know you don't like to be behind us but, we are transporting the most preious cargo. I am so afraid that a child is going to be killed on the roadway's due to everyone being in a hurry and talking on the cell phone. Think about it, what if it was your child.
