Emergency Test, Siren Drill to be Conducted March 27
HISTORIC ST. MARY'S CITY - 3/25/2009
On Friday, March 27, from 1:10 to 1:20 p.m., St. Mary’s College of Maryland will conduct an emergency communications test and siren drill on the campus. The sirens were installed in June 2008 with the purpose of alerting the campus community to potential weather and security-related threats.
One siren is located on the top of the Athletics and Recreation Center, and the other is on the roof of the Campus Center. The test includes various methods of communicating to the campus community, including the siren alert, a scroll message at the bottom of all campus televisions, an automated voice message on telephones, a message on the college’s home page and a mass e-mail.
Those on or near the college campus are advised to go to these sources of information for answers to their questions so that the Public Safety phone lines are left open for the most critical emergency communications.
