New Era of Elegance and Style in Leonardtown

LEONARDTOWN - 12/6/2008

On Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 4 p.m., Executive Inn and Suites cut the ribbon, officially opening the first of its kind, high-end hotel on Park Avenue in Leonardtown. The newly constructed hotel sits on the site of the former Relax Inn. According to general manager, Neal Patel, “We wanted to preserve the historic look of Leonardtown and built the hotel with that in mind.”

The new hotel opened with 41 luxurious rooms which include King-size, two different full-size room configurations, a queen suite room with a whirlpool and an executive suite with a full sized Jacuzzi.

“We have Italian marble in all the rooms and the lobby,” said Patel. The hotel is now in the application phase of opening a bar area for guests, which should be ready by early spring. Guests can now enjoy a complimentary hot breakfast as part of the cost of their rooms in the hotel’s beautiful breakfast area. There is also a business center, fitness room and sauna for guests to enjoy during their stay.

“We are so excited to have an establishment of this caliber in our town,” said Leonardtown Mayor J. Harry Norris. The enigmatic mayor went on to say that it would be a great boost to tourism for the town which has worked hard to improve and that the upscale hotel would be a great compliment to the town’s restaurants and other area businesses.

The hotel is within walking distance from eight Leonardtown restaurants and the new Leonardtown wharf.

At the ribbon cutting ceremony, county commissioners Thomas Mattingly and Jack Russell were in attendance along with town commissioners Bob Combs, Leslie Roberts, Tom Collier, Dan Burris in addition to Mayor Norris.

Patel stated that business owners and tourists are encouraged to stop by any time to see the amenities and luxury featured by the upscale hotel.
