Maryland Senator Roy Dyson won his reelection bid by beating out Tommy McKay, who will become former president of the St. Mary’s Commissioners in early December.

The Bay Net caught up with Dyson and McKay on Friday to hear what they thought about the election and the future for the county and state.

Dyson says the Democrats in power in Maryland under Governor-elect Martin O’Malley will finally get things done, especially in the area of transportation.

McKay said if he’s learned one thing during this election, it is that negative and attack advertising works. And they work especially well when you have a tabloid newspaper working for you, he said.

See the three videos included here for more of McKay and Dyson’s comments on the election, and their future plans, which for McKay include working on his family’s new newspaper business, The County Times.
