Join us at Garvey Senior Activity Center on Tuesday, Aug. 12 at 9:30 a.m. as we embark on a new program to strengthen our brains…Brain Agility. As a group, we’ll explore methods for enhancing recall and memory. Learn specific memory enhancing exercises that take only 10 minutes a day to practice. Reserve Your Movie Matinee Ticket by Thursday, Aug. 14 for the Friday, Aug. 15 showing of ‘The Bucket List’ at the Northern Senior Activity Center. This current release comedy, teams two exceptional stars: Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman, will be shown at 12:30 p.m. on the large screen TV. Popcorn and refreshments will be served. Senior Trailblazers…The Northern Senior Activity Center provides parking and access to the Three Notch Trail which goes from the center to the local library; 2.5 miles round trip will give a benefical exercise while enjoying the outdoors. Also available is a Nature trail behind the center for nature lovers who want an up close connection with the trees, birds and native plants. Beat the heat and cool off in the woods! Are you interested in being on the Mixed Senior Bowling League? Teams will be forming soon. Games are played on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month and run from September through May at Esperanza Bowling Lanes. Call Gay at (301) 373-4544 to sign up. There is a fee.
