3/3/3 Bingo is again taking place at Loffler Senior Activity Center at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 13. Three hours, three cards, three dollars. This monthly event is getting more popular- maybe it’s because of the prizes or maybe it’s just fun! If you want to come and plan to eat lunch that day please call 301.737.5670 at least 24 hours in advance. The lunch will be cooked on the premises that day so it is important to know the numbers in advance.

Loffler Senior Activity Center is still looking for Art Instructors to teach beginning classes in all mediums. If you like teaching art and are willing to offer classes at a reasonable rate please call Shellie Graziano at (301) 737-5670 ext. 1655.

A Mexican Train Dominos group meets at the Garvey Senior Activity Center on Friday at 10:30 a.m.; the next meeting will be Aug. 15. Call Brandy at 301.475.4200 ext. 1062 for more information.

Research shows that it is imperative to maintain mental agility. Join us at Garvey Senior Activity Center on Tuesday, Aug. 12 at 9:30 a.m. as we embark on a new program to strengthen our brains…Brain Agility. As a group, we’ll explore methods for enhancing recall and memory. Learn specific memory enhancing exercises that take only 10 minutes a day to practice. On Tuesday, Aug. 12 at 10 a.m., Summertime Bingo will be held in addition to the Friday bingos at the Northern Senior Activity Center. Cost is $1 per card (2 cards maximum). Walk-ins are welcome.

Reserve Your Movie Matinee Ticket by Thursday, Aug. 14 for the Friday, Aug. 15 showing of ‘The Bucket List’ at the Northern Senior Activity Center. This current release comedy, teams two exceptional stars: Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman, will be shown at 12:30 p.m. on the large screen TV. Popcorn and refreshments will be served.

Senior Trailblazers…The Northern Senior Activity Center provides parking and access to the Three Notch Trail which goes from the center to the local library; 2.5 miles round trip will give a benefical exercise while enjoying the outdoors. Also available is a Nature trail behind the center for nature lovers who want an up close connection with the trees, birds and native plants. Beat the heat and cool off in the woods!

Are you interested in being on the Mixed Senior Bowling League? Teams will be forming soon. Games are played on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month and run from September through May at Esperanza Bowling Lanes. Call Gay at (301) 373-4544 to sign up. There is a fee.
