On July 15, at 6:25 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers working an auto theft detail located a stolen vehicle in the parking lot of a shopping center in the 12500 block of Mattawoman Beantown Road in Waldorf.

Officers attempted to stop the driver but he jumped out of the car and fled. The driver, a 17-year-old Waldorf male, was apprehended and charged with unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, theft over $500, and driving without a license. He was remanded to a juvenile facility.
