At approximately 10:30 a.m. June 19, police responded to a 911 call for an assault victim lying in the woods behind Hal’s Deli in Lexington Park. Police located Fredy Herman Eatmon II, from Washington DC suffering from head wounds.

He was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital, where he was treated and released in the morning on June 20.

St. Mary’s County BCI detectives investigating the incident determined that an argument between the victim and Kevin Jerome Chase, 38 of Great Mills, and Walter Jerome Ford, 43, of Park Hall, escalated into the victim being beaten and left in the wooded area.

Chase and Ford were both arrested for first-degree Assault and incarcerated in the St. Mary’s County Detention Center.
