A 17-year-old male from Huntingtown was charged on a youth report with first and second degree assault and hit and run after it was determined from victim and witness statements that he hit two men with his vehicle after attempting to start a fight with them.

The assault occurred on June 13 at about 9 p.m. on Meadow Lane and Ridge Road in Chesapeake Beach.

The alleged victims, a 24-year-old and an 18-year-old, both from Chesapeake Beach, advised DFC Paul Wood that after failing to instigate a fight with them, the 17-year-old got into his truck and rode past them, hitting both of them in the arm with his vehicle.  He then stopped and put the truck into reverse, attempting to hit them again.

Four witnesses gave the same account as the victims.  The victims’ injuries did not require medical attention.
