Man Bashed in Head with Baseball Bat

At 11 a.m. June 3, St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Sdfc. D. Corcoran responded to a residence in Lexington Park for the report of an Assault. Police investigation revealed the victim and suspect, Joseph M. Taylor, 28, of Lexington Park, were involved in a verbal dispute inside the residence. The dispute escalated at which time Taylor struck the victim in the head with a baseball bat, police say. The victim was subsequently airlifted by Maryland State Police Trooper 7 to Prince George’s Hospital where she is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. Taylor was arrested on the scene, charged with felony Assault First Degree and incarcerated in the Detention Center pending appearance before the District Court Commissioner. |
