Crash into Pole at Brass Rail Knots Traffic

A woman and infant child were injured and flown by helicopter from a single-vehicle crash Monday afternoon on Route 5 near the Brass Rail in Callaway. Police and rescue volunteers were dispatched at 4:07 p.m. to find a passenger car had sustained a heavy crash into a road-side pole. Volunteer firefighters removed the doors on the driver’s side to free the patients. Two volunteer ambulance crews transported the infant and adult to the Maryland State Police helicopter hanger at St. Mary's Airport. The Female and infant were flown by Trooper 7 to Washington Hospital Center and Children’s Hospital in DC. See slideshow below for images from the scene.
