On May 20, Deputy Kristi Nelson responded to a residence in Mechanicsville, for a report of an assault.

Investigation revealed Francis Charlene Magnum, 49 of Mechanicsville, struck a minor child (male, 17 yrs old), whom she had care and custody, several times about the head and face.

Francis Magnum was arrested and charged with one count of child abuse.
