Tiki Bar Designated Driver Contest Winner Announced
SOLOMONS ISLAND - 4/21/2008
|
Calvert County Sheriff Mike Evans selected the lucky winner of a trip for four to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, at 10 a.m. today. Joining the Sheriff was Richard Hall and Dave Parker, Regional Sales Manager, both of Bob Hall LLC, which offered the Busch Gardens trip and $50 for fuel costs. The winning card, belonging to Susan Scaduto of Lusby, was taken from the pledge cards entered by citizens who signed up to be Designated Drivers at this year’s annual opening of the Tiki Bar. Bob Hall LLC, sponsoring the drive to encourage designated driving, also supplied sling bags, coolers, MP3 speakers and other items for the designated drivers to win throughout the weekend. Anheuser Busch’s “Who’s Your Bud? Choose a Designated Driver” program promotes the concept. The Tiki Bar and Catamarans restaurant participated this past weekend by providing free water and Tiki Bar t-shirts to designated drivers. There were 308 designated drivers signed up to transport an additional 855 passengers safely home after enjoying the festivities. “We firmly believe in the designated driver program, and thank the attendees at the Tiki Bar and Catamarans establishments last weekend that participated, stated Sheriff Mike Evans. "Bob Hall, Inc., the Anheuser Busch distributor for Calvert County, has really stepped up in increasing the local establishments’ awareness of the need for a designated driver program, especially during large events such as the Tiki Bar opening." |
