Drunk Crook Caught After 3 Break-Ins

On Dec. 2, units from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office and the Calvert Investigative Team responded to Calvert Self Storage located at 600 Calvert Beach Road, St. Leonard, for a burglary in progress. Upon arrival the complainant advised that the suspect entered the business through a window he had broken out and left on foot. While officers were in the area canvassing for the suspect, described as a very intoxicated with dark hair and wearing blue jeans, a third burglary in progress call went out. The suspect broke into Interlude Kennels, 1025 Calvert Beach Road, St. Leonard. The suspect was chased from the scene into the woods. Capizzi was arrested while walking out of the woods to the back of his residence. Numerous stolen items and US Currency was recovered from Capizzi’s person. Capizzi was charged with 2 counts of second-degree burglary, 1 count of first-degree burglary, 1 count theft under $500 and 1 count Malicious Destruction of property under $500. He is currently being held at the Calvert County Detention center awaiting a Bond Review with the District Court Commissioner.
