|
Chelsie Stanley, an eighth-grade honor student at Spring Ridge Middle School, hosted a fundraiser entitled “An Evening with Chelsie and Friends” on Friday night, April 11, at Three Notch Theatre in Lexington Park. Chelsie was selected to participate in the People to People Student Ambassador Program, which provides international educational opportunities to help build leadership skills among America’s youth. Chelsie is also a member of the National Junior Honor Society, the National Congressional Youth Leadership Council, and a member of the Student Government Association. Under the Ambassador Program, Chelsie will be able to visit and tour the United Kingdom and Ireland this summer and earn high school and college credits and broaden her perspective of the world by gaining a better understanding of the British and Irish heritage. The evening of entertainment featured solo and ensemble string performances, an illusionist, and theater skits from the Newtowne Players. See slideshow below for photos from the evening. |
