Troy “Chaz” Petteway, a ninth-grade student at the Robert D. Stethem Educational Center, landed a small role on the HBO Films seven-part miniseries titled “John Adams.”

 Petteway plays a French naval officer in episode 3 titled “Don’t Tread On Me,” set aboard a ship in the Boston Harbor during the American Revolution.

 The show premiered on Sunday, March 29, and airs Sundays at 9 p.m. The series is produced by Tom Hanks and is directed by Tom Hooper. Paul Giamatti and Laura Linney play the lead roles in the series as John and Abigail Adams.

 Petteway participated in filming last March in Goochland, Va., and has participated in other “stage-acting” roles and hopes to continue acting after high school.
