Calvert County Flag Flies in Iraq

 In early March, Staff Sergeant Michael W. Pitcher of Lusby, currently stationed in Iraq with the U.S. Marines, contacted Sheriff Mike Evans with a special request.

 Pitcher and LCpl. Jeremy Gott, also of Lusby and currently in Iraq, wondered if it were possible for them to get a Calvert County flag sent to them, saying he had searched high and low and couldn’t find one.  He promised to bring it home safely.

 Sheriff Evans immediately contacted the Calvert County Commissioners and had one sent.

Way to be there for us Devil Dogs. . .but editors, I've never heard of a Lieutenant Corporal before? Is that like a Major Sergeant? It's been a long time, but I can't say I remember that rank.

Damn straight!
Thank you to ALL our soldiers over there for what you do each and everyday. It doesn't go unnoticed. If possible, I would hug each and every one of you for the service and security you provide for us here. Not a day goes by that I don't think of you all.

Keep your heads up....your doing a great job.

Thank you for a doing a job not too many of us would want to do.

The Marines don't have a Lieutenant Corporal maybe they meant Lance Corporal.

My son is a Lance Corporal stationed at Camp Johnson/Camp Lejuene and this picture made it to him.

We also are from Lusby so the picture was even more meaningful to my son. LCpl is the rank right above PFC.
